Traditional door harps originated in Scandinavia over 300 years ago, they can occasionally be seen as heirlooms.
In western Europe the door harp has long been a wedding gift of special significance. The delicate singing of the chimes would ensure prosperity and happiness in the household of the newlyweds, while reminding them of loves promise and their wedding day.
